Why Yoga?

Yoga started as the one place where I could quiet my mind—where the noise finally stopped. I initially came to yoga for the workout, but it wasn’t until I began exploring the deeper, spiritual aspects of the practice that my true journey with yoga began. It’s been more than just movement for me—it’s been healing. After a knee reconstruction surgery at 42, yoga became my path to recovery, not just physically, but emotionally, helping me process things I’d buried for years.

What inspires you about the HOY community?

Jackie always says HOY is the house that love built, and you can feel that the moment you step through the door. It’s more than a space; it’s sacred. The people and their energy are what make HOY such a welcoming, vibrant place.

Why do you Teach?

When HOY first opened, I discovered yoga by taking classes during my lunch breaks. That time gave me a chance to reset, focus, and reconnect. Now, I teach to give others that same gift—a moment to breathe, to go feral, to recharge, or simply to be.

What fires me up off the mat?

I’m into anything that makes me feel alive—reading, hiking, camping, dancing, music, podcasts, true crime, and occasionally burning things (in my firepit!).
